Playstation 3 will reclaim the lead of games console

The head of Sony console division, Kaz Hirai, said that Playstation 3 will help sony reclaim the lead of game console.

Kaz Hirai believes Playstation 3 would overhaul Nintendo and Microsoft. He said that Sony is now in “marathon” race with Nintendo and Microsoft.

Nintendo’s Wii is currently the number one next-generation machine globally with more than 25 million Wiis shipped by April this year, while there are 19 million Microsoft XBox shipped on the same period. In the end of 2007 there were more than 10.5 million Playstation 3 shipped.

This is wath Kaz Hirai said:

I am very confident that after the 10-year lifecycle we will have the install base that we are looking for and that is obviously to be in the leadership position

    I agree with you but it will a long way to defeat Microsoft XBox and Nintendo Wii.
